SInce the beginning of Buckle & Seam, we have only worked directly with manufacturers and craftsmen. Now we can present numerous certificates, while at the beginning we and especially our partners lacked the necessary financial to carry out these certifications. That's why we are even more proud that today we as a company, but also our local partners, have received such confirmations. We have some of the most important certificates in Europe and worldwide in terms of material selection (REACH + LWG), fair and safe working conditions (BSCI) and existence as a company (BCORP).

While we support personal and professional development with every product we sell and want the basic right to education for all, we also strive to manufacture our products ourselves as conscientiously as possible.

CERTIFIED LEATHER

The Leather Working Group (LWG) is an initiative where brands, manufacturers, retailers and tanneries have come together to make conditions in tanneries and intermediaries more transparent and sustainable.

100% of the leather we work with is LWG certified and is therefore sourced responsibly. It is particularly important that any wastewater produced is not simply discharged back into rivers and lakes, but is filtered, treated and reused responsibly. Thus, we offer products that have been manufactured according to environmentally friendly best practices. 

All our suppliers hold LWG certification, which was granted after rigorous evaluation of their own environmental performance in the respective country.

FAIR WORKING CONDITIONS

Social responsibility is at the core of our company. Through the BSCI Code of Conduct, we are committed to maintaining in the manufacturing process. This means that our partner manufacturers and production facilities  ensure fair, clean and equal workplaces.

We are proud to be able to pay our employees in our own production an average wage that is three times higher than usual in Pakistan. We also offer health insurance coverage for themselves and their families, unemployment and pension insurance. In this way we can contribute to improving working conditions worldwide!

REACH COMPLIANT

Products and products that meet all the conditions of the EU Chemicals Regulation are considered REACH-compliant. The REACH Regulation is a set of European Union standards that were adopted to improve the protection of human health and the environment from the risks posed by chemicals while promoting the competitiveness of the EU chemical industry. It also proposes alternative methods for assessing the risks of substances in order to reduce the number of animal tests.
